Buwan ng Wika 2024
Theme: "Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya"
Last August 30, 2024, we celebrated the Buwan ng Wika 2024 with the theme "Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya". We held the event in our school library. We divided the children into three batches. The first batch comprised pupils from Senior Nursery 1, Junior Prep 1 and Senior Prep 1. The second batch comprised pupils from Senior Nursery 2 , Junior Preparatory 2 and Senior Preparatory 2. The third batch was composed of pupils from SPED class, Junior Preparatory 3 and Senior Preparatory 3.
The program for each batch begun with the doxology and the singing of the national anthem.
In each batch, Senior Prep pupils delivered their poem which they had learnt and memorised over the past week. Some pupils delivered their poems, whereas other pupils were reluctant at first but went on to deliver their poem beautifully.
After each Senior Prep pupil had delivered their poem, the Senior Nursery and Junior Prep pupils showcased their talents in dancing to the tunes of the following - "Tatlong Bibe","Ang Pipit", "Mamang Sorbetero" and"Una Kaya".
After the program, the teachers, parents together with the performers, shared a sumptous meal comprising with native food delicacies from throughout the Philippines. We call this a "Pista sa Nayon" where parents bring native food delicacies to share with every one.

This event is held to emphasize the importance of speaking our national language. The children, all dressed in their traditional Filipino costumes had a wonderful time. The parents enjoyed seeing their children show off their talents with confidence and our teachers were very happy to know that their tireless preparations for the event had been rewarded.
